Mountains Like Wax

Today is a milestone that I wanted to do a lot more with, but the tides of life sometimes dictate otherwise - and that acceptance and celebration is maybe the best way to commemorate this batch of songs. We were young men when we wrote and recorded these songs. Trying our best to decipher walking through life with love and love lost, and honestly doing a rather poor job of doing so - but made what I still feel is a staple of that era in the Nashville music scene. It led us to some of the largest stages we’ve ever played, and some of the most dank basements you could think of. Band members came and went during the tracking of this project. Partners came and went. We moved. We graduated college. The list goes on and on - but for this to mark what a timestamp it has for my life has been done in a way so much more profoundly than I could have ever imagined. Sometimes I’ve hated these songs. Sometimes they hit me right in the chest. Today, I hug them as tightly as I possibly can. The biggest thanks to all of you that made this ep possible. Happy 10 Years of Tetralogy.

Spit on the ground (reprise) is available everywhere you can stream music. So much love and feeling for this song - always has been. We went back and forth for quite some time on which version to put on the record (I think we nailed the choice, cause 🫶), and always had a fiery affinity for this version. It made me feel like all of my favorite bands. Very grateful to for his time and passion for this one, letting me nap in his bed after I had a panic attack while tracking vocals for it, and his patience with us releasing it. I think it’s coming when it needed to (I feel like I preemptively wrote this record for the last 2 years of my life). I love how much this song still hurts me - happy second breath of life xo

Are You Changing? (Continued) comes to you next week, May 9. So many of the songs off of BTWP took on so many different imaginings before becoming what they are now, this is an homage to that - recorded in and out of state lines for the better part of 2022.
