Things you should know about your local boxing clubs.

They struggle to make ends meet or find places to train. They scrape together sponsors for sending these kids to shows. A lot of the kids that do box have little or no financial means to do so and the coaches find ways to register them either out of pocket or finding sponsors. This is a volunteer organization 💯. USA Boxing doesn't pay us to become coaches. Tthey certainly charge us for registering ourselves and the kids to box. We pay to become coaches because we love this sport and the kids in our communities and are committed to bringing different opportunities for these kids.

This isn't your local public school sport. Your kid doesn't get benched. This is a sport of you and gives you what you pour into it.

I’m grateful that uses the term “Service”
I’ve been in boxing 20 years now- 15 of them as a registered coach.
My volunteerism is a way of life. One should be of service to others and self in order to give back to nature the gifts of life given to us.
While we fight metaphorical opponents and real ones in the ring- we are connected and necessary to one another.
I opened the gym so I could pay my bills and still have a high level of service mentality.
This community is a reflection of that vision.
Pay your rent to buy from the small business as much as you can
Engage in as many Mutual Aid acts as you possibly can. - Get to know all your neighbors so that you can be of service to one another if needed.
It’s simple - not easy but very simple.
Thank you to the great legend for his example to give us so much via the most beautiful sport on earth and through his service to humanity outside the ring.
