We recently traded the studio for the serenity of the Peninsula. Taking a few days to step into nature allowed us to reflect on our firm’s vision and align our personal goals for the year ahead.

At Hinge Studio, we believe the best transitions happen with intention. With this time to reflect, we’ve caught our breath, found our focus, and are ready to keep moving forward.

The Donum Estate reminds us that architecture can transcend shelter—it can frame the landscape, choreograph movement, and heighten awareness. Art and architecture here merge into one spatial language, where the viewer becomes part of the work itself. This is design as experience, as dialogue, as place.

The kitchen became the heart of this renovation—and the key to unlocking the home’s stunning Sound views. By relocating an awkward powder room, the space opened up to reveal a cook’s dream: a generous island, full-height storage, and seamless flow to the dining area.

From a jewel-box powder room to a built-in entry bench and a fully finished basement, every move was intentional. The result? A warm, functional home designed around how the homeowners truly live.
