MEN IN DANCE is committed to supporting and producing cutting-edge male concert dance in all of its color. To these ends we invite choreographers of all gender expressions to submit a proposal for our 2026 Festival of MEN IN DANCE, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of our founding in 1996

• All performers must be male.

• Three (3) performances will be held: an evening show on September 25 and 26 and a matinee on September 27, 2026.

• All shows will be held at The Erickson Theatre in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, WA.

• We will produce (up to) 8 choreographers, each receiving a stipend of at least $500; dancers will also be paid a stipend of at least $200. Choreographers who perform in their own work will be compensated for both roles.

• All disciples of dance are encouraged to apply, including but not limited to Ballet, Jazz, Modern Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Circus Arts, Tap, etc.

• All proposed works should be a maximum of 10 minutes; solos and duets are accepted, but small group pieces are encouraged.

The Deadline for Submissions is April 30, 2026.
All Applicants will be contacted no later than May 31, 2026.

Tickets now ON SALE for the 2025 MEN IN DANCE Choreographers Showcase!

This is the 6th iteration of our biennial event and features five (5) choreographers’ new works followed by a moderated discussion with a panel of local dance notables following each intermission.

THIS YEAR’S ARTISTS
We are pleased to announce our 2025 Choreographers as follows:

Derek Crescenti (New York, NY) with a group piece
Marlo Martin (Seattle, WA) with a duet
Robbi A. Moore (Seattle, WA) with a duet
Madeline Roman (Washington, DC), with a duet and a live musician
Will Jessup (Vancouver, BC) with a solo piece expanded for this event

Gérard Théorêt, a Seattleite with over four (4) decades of experience as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and theatrical director, returns as our moderator with the following panelists for each performance:
