Time has flown by since we launched our 2025-26 Learning Community in October of last year - and tomorrow, we're celebrating a program year of laughter and connection at our 2026 Completion Ceremony.
Over the last 8 months, our students and mentors have embarked on a variety of Seattle adventures: rock-climbing, The Seattle Aquarium, Chihuly Garden and Glass, arcades, city parks, boba outings, and everything in between. On the eve of our Completion Ceremony, we wanted to share some photos of these adventures (and the smiles that came with them).

We want to give our gratitude to our friends at partner organizations, like Chihuly Garden and Glass and Seattle Aquarium, who connect us with tickets for our matches and Family Groups - thank you for helping our participants create lasting memories!

We also want to thank our mentors and students for showing up with joy, authenticity, and enthusiasm. YOU make our program awesome, and we couldn't build this community without you. See you at the Completion Ceremony!

Today is - and this year, we invite you to make a donation to Community for Youth, and help us continue to provide community-based mentorship services that support young people as they navigate their unique journeys and get ready for what comes next.

This month, we spoke with four high school seniors who are finishing their time at CfY and preparing to embark on their next chapter. For these four seniors, their compassionate, consistent mentors provided much-needed support in a stressful year, whether it was putting finishing touches on college applications, selecting an undergrad program, exploring a career choice, or just providing a "brain break" from the rapid pace of this final year of high school.

Franklin High School senior Illyas shared his post-high school and career plans, and talked about how his mentor, Sam, gave him critical insight into a career in law. Check out the video below to watch Illyas' reflection on his time at CfY and his connection to his mentor, and stay tuned to our socials for more senior reflection videos!

We're hoping to raise $6,000 by 11:59 PM - and we need your help. Whether you give $20 or $200, every gift gets us closer to our goal, and helps fulfill our mission: to inspire and support students to be their best selves through mentoring, learning experiences, and a powerful community. Donate via our official page: https://mtyc.co/3qbr2g

Each year, up to 10 students join CfY's official student leadership team, LeaderCorps, to help shape the CfY student experience by providing program feedback, helping to plan curriculum and events, and leading special projects - and our 2025-26 LeaderCorps team has gone above and beyond this year!

LeaderCorps students PK, Siga, Luis, and Olive have identified volunteer opportunities for CfY students, staff, mentors, and supporters, and have led projects at Seattle Area Feline Rescue and Sound Foundations NW where the CfY volunteer team worked hard to create a transitional tiny home. This volunteer project was supported with a small volunteer grant from United Way of King County. Thank you, Sound Foundations NW and Seattle Area Feline Rescue for the seamless and educational experiences!

Other LeaderCorps projects this year include monthly Mental Health Support Circles facilitated alongside our MSW Interns and in-school recruitment presentations facilitated in classrooms at Franklin High School - visit our Official Blog to read all about the exciting things our LeaderCorps members are working on this year: https://www.communityforyouth.org/blog/cfy-2025-2026-leadercorps-students-lead-recruitment-peer-support-circles-community-service-projects

Thank you, Olive, PK, Luis, Qing, Joe, Jake, Ruwayda, Siga, and Chloe for all of your hard work and efforts this program year. We appreciate you!!
