SAAS Track & Field is on fire 🔥

This past weekend, 14 Cardinals secured their spots at the 3A State Meet, which begins Thursday!

Earlier this season, several student-athletes earned Metro Champion titles:

🏆 Dio S. ’26 — 100m, 200m, and 400m Metro Champion

🏆 Jasper Elligani ’27 — Triple Jump Metro Champion

🏆 Dio S. ’26, Ray M. ’27, Russell S. ’27, and Ellis B. ’26 — Relay Team Champions

Plus, the team has celebrated eight new school records so far this season.

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, three City of Seattle Policy Advisors, and a member of the Seattle Youth Commission brought their expertise to SAAS’s recent Civic Engagement Forums.

They talked to students about how to speak up about the issues they care about—the advocacy methods that really reach local leaders and communities.

Key topics included:

💫 Seattle’s legislative process and making public comments at council meetings

💫 Personal storytelling as an advocacy tool

💫 Examples of local teen activism that have influenced Mayor Wilson

💫 Civic programs for young people, including the City’s Seattle Youth Employment Program and the Seattle Department of Transportation’s Youth Ambassadors Program

More than 130 SAAS students are enrolled in high-level arts courses, where they push their creative boundaries and build their portfolios. Their work spans painting, photography, film, ceramics, fashion, sculpture, and more.
