Prior to recording this song together, and I had only ever collaborated remotely, but we’d never actually met each other in person. When I extended an invitation to fly up from SF to join me for a long weekend at my family’s tiny cabin in Shelton WA, I was thrilled she agreed!

So back in January, I drove to the airport to pick up Asia and we hopped aboard a car ferry (her first!) to cross over the sound & made our way to the cabin. Jumping straight into collaboration was surprisingly less weird than you’d imagine…we had worked together previously on two tracks remotely (“Erase Me” & my cover of T.S. “cardigan”) so we had a good working history and knew we could vibe. This trip ignited something in me that I had been missing for a long time; working on music with someone, being in same room, sharing time, space, and energy. Sharing physical space with the person you’re collaborating feels special in a way that sending files back and forth remotely just can’t compete with. I felt a certain spark of creative magic I had been missing, and I hope you feel that too, listening to the track.
