🏯 Thank you to our guests from Japan and all the Seattleites who came out to meet them, taste their incredible products, and learn how they're made!
We're so fortunate to be able to offer some of Japan's best, highest-quality ingredients at ChefShop. Those who came by on Saturday got to taste the difference these producers bring to their soy sauces; sesame oils, seeds, and pastes; and shiro tamari and shirodashi.
The care and generations of traditions shine through.
Thank you Takehiro Wada, Yoichi Yugeta, and Taisuke Ninagawa for sharing your history with us, and to Greg Dunmore from The Japanese Pantry for bringing them to Seattle!
If you didn't make it to the event, stop by this week or anytime, to explore the flavors of Japan!
Not in Seattle? You'll find everything at ChefShop.com!

Stock up early for your BBQs, picnics, parties, and long-weekend cooking plans. Whether you need great olive oil, special condiments, craft chocolate, vinegars, sauces, snacks, or something delicious to bring along, come see us before the holiday.
And don't worry...we’ll be back on Monday!

📢 Reminder: This Saturday’s tasting is for the heat-seekers, the flavor chasers, and the dads with strong condiment opinions.
We’re pouring (OK, eye-droppering) a full lineup of hot sauces from this Saturday at ChefShop, including:
🔥 Pineapple Miso
🔥 Smoky Hibiscus
🔥 Ghost Pepper Maqaw
🔥 Passion Fruit Mustard
🔥 Irwin Mango
And because we like a good plot twist, we’ll also be tasting spicy chocolate bars, including selections from .chocolate (Scotch Bonnet 🌶️), (Hawaiian Chili 🌶️), and (Aji Chombo🌶️).
If you’ve never tried spicy chocolate, this is a very good excuse. 🍫
Come by, taste across styles, compare favorites, and find something gift-worthy—or just something delicious.

Sherry vinegar is one of the fastest ways to make summer food taste more vibrant and complete.
Sanchez Romate Reserva Sherry Vinegar is made in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, from sherry wine made with Palomino grapes. It is aged in oak for at least three years, giving it more depth than a simple sharp vinegar.
The flavor lands in that beautiful space between acid and sweetness, with almond notes and a layered, almost savory character.
Where we love it:
✨️ Tomato salad
✨️ Gazpacho
✨️ Roasted peppers
✨️ Braised chicken
✨️ Lentils and beans
✨️ Marinades
✨️ Soups and stews
✨️ Simple vinaigrettes
✨️ Farro salad with great olive oil (p.s. we know where to get some)
A little sherry vinegar can make a dish taste like someone thought about it longer than they did.
👉️ Follow ChefShop for ingredient deep-dives and small upgrades that change dinner.
