January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month
What is cervical cancer?

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that develops in the cervix. The cervix is located in the top of the va**na and is part of the lower uterus. Cervical cancer is mostly caused by infections from high-risk HPV.

How can HHC help?

• You can get the HPV vaccine in our Immunization Clinic.
• If you have a cervix and are 25 years or older, you can get HPV screening (a Pap smear or self-swab) in our OB/GYN and PC Clinics. Detecting HPV early allows monitoring and care, so you don't develop cervical cancer!
• Room 101 provides students with access to Safer S*x Supplies that help prevent the spread of STIs, including HPV.

Husky Health Center is closed on Monday, January 19th, 2026 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, January 20th.

Husky Health is closed on Wednesday, December 31 beginning at 3:00pm and all of Thursday, January 1st, 2026 in observance of New Year’s Day. See you next year! 🎉
