We will enjoy a tribute screening lovingly curated by Seattle’s own , alongside live puppet shows by , puppet building by and a display of several marionettes from his original productions. We will also broadcast an interview covering Sid’s career from the podcast . A condolences book will be available for you to share your favorite memories of Sid and his work. Free with RSVP

It’s with great sadness we share the news that the grandfather of puppetry, passed away over the weekend. We were just a few weeks away from celebrating Sid here at an event highlighting his contributions to the Seattle World’s fair and his decades long career. Our executive director (who had the pleasure of working with Sid over the years) sends our condolences to his assistant, friends, and fans. We will take care of refunds shortly and will share more as it develops. - Dustin and SOMHP crew. RIP Sid and thank you Xx.

We are thrilled to introduce as our next project with the support of . What is Fin de Fest? We are an independent Latin American film festival held in Seattle over a weekend, dedicated to showcasing contemporary films created in and about Latin America. The festival offers a space where cinema, identity, community, and intercultural dialogue intersect, bringing Latin American stories to new audiences in Seattle and the greater PNW.

In this edition, we’re celebrating the punk scene of 1980s Mexico City at the historic Egyptian Theatre. Featuring screenings of Tutti Frutti: El Documental and S*x Ponchitos, director Q&As, workshops, an opening party, closing bash, and a Latin American vendor market. As part of the we are please to announce the next edition of Seattle Community Puppet Day on Saturday September 14th from 9am-5pm in Columbia City (Columbia Park and the Ranier Arts Center). Join us for free community clean-up, puppet crafts, performances, and special appearances by Karen Prell (Red Fraggle), Jim Henson’s Imagination Illustrated Book Presentation and signing with Karen Falk, and a Jim Henson: Life and Legacy poster exhibit.
