Storied at Home

Do you own things in your home that you fall in love with over and over again? This giant wood bowl is it for me. I received one as a gift years ago and so I decided to bring it to the shop. That’s how much I love it!

You can layer all the goods from wet to dry and easily serve a big group. I especially love that I can aggressively fluff it to mix in the dressing and it doesn’t make a mess. You can serve straight out of it as well because it’s presentable. This bowl should last you a lifetime as it patinas beautifully.

To clean, just add flake salt, a halved lemon and scrub. Quick rinse the interior and dry with a towel. Once completely dry, rub with a food grade mineral or olive oil.

Add interesting servers and a draped tea towel for a complete look.

More details: It’s from a Mill in VT. Made with a hardwood maple fallen from the property. This is 17” in diameter and likely the largest, solid real wood (not glued together), food safe bowl still made today. Not online, in store only.
