The Goodbye Look
03/08/2026
In what feels like a real full circle moment, The Goodbye Look is partnering with one of Seattle’s greatest champions for jazz and improvised music, . We will be co-promoting two shows at , one curated by Earshot and one curated by us. Seattle’s jazz audience is becoming more robust and vibrant by the day, and we hope this is the first of many efforts to grow the respective audiences of both outfits.
First up, Earshot is presenting .alto, the Glasgow based multi instrumentalist and producer.
His music speaks not just to his time spent studying music formally at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, or his time spent as part of the burgeoning and fertile music scene in Glasgow, but equally to an eclectic mix of influences that draw as much on his affinity with club-culture and all its forms of electronic music and to his love of classic hip-hop, soul and funk.
And on April 15, the Goodbye Look presents ’s Yeah / No. Initially convened in the mid-90s as an experiment in decoding and scoring group improvisations, the band - led by saxophonist and clarinetist Chris Speed (The Bad Plus) alongside Jim Black, Skúli Sverrisson, and trumpeter Cuong Vu - crafted an unconventional book of music that fused jazz, rock, Eastern European folk and minimalism, together pushing the NYC jazz and new music underground into new territory.
We’re stoked to be collaborating with such a legendary Seattle institution, and will follow up soon with info on the other show in this co-promotional pairing.

We’re kicking off 2026 with a true all-star group, bringing in David Binney’s () Action Trio featuring Louis Cole () on drums and Pera Krstajic () on bass.
Those who were lucky enough to attend when we had this crew out in 2023 can attest to the fact that the performance will have your eyes widened and your hair blown back, leaving you extra susceptible to the deep and raw emotion delivered in excess. Screaming improvisations and bpms combined with searing precision translate into a truly high octane display of musicality that is balanced by equally beautiful, personal, and heartfelt tempo shifts. The blending of three such strong and distinct voices on their respective instruments is really a sight to behold, and we’re very lucky to be able to present them in The Goodbye Look style (i.e. in a way smaller room than they would normally perform in in this city).
This is a 21+ show.
Early set at 7pm, late set at 9pm.
Show will be mostly standing room but please let us know in advance if you require accommodations. There is some seating around the outer edges of the room on a first come, first serve basis.
