From my journal this past weekend:
Stop Trying To Fix It
If you are cold
Get a blanket
If you are cold
Turn up the heat
If you are cold
Make hot tea
But for Gods Sake
Stop Trying to Change the Weather

I'm still not on socials much these days. When I do pop on I have mixed feelings.
1. Joy to see how folks are doing.
2. Smiles from quick connections.
3. Overwhelm of information.
4. Disturbed peace of mind from content/state of the world.
5. Addictive scrolling, or wanting to pick it up to scroll, and lack of focus.
6. A feeling of needing to hustle, to do or be something coming from a sense of comparison or lack.
Any of this sound familiar?
I do think there can be a way to engage social media healthily, I have tried many to most tactics and haven't found any that work long term. I will say, being on here less has given me the following:
1. More connection with my in person relationships.
2. More peace of mind.
3. Increased focus.
4. A healthier sense of priority and self values on the day to day.
5. Better outcomes in what I choose to learn, engage and work on.
6. More time to do things I love rather than scroll.
Habits are hard to break folks. The first steps are awareness of what we are currently doing and asking, is it what I want to be doing? Then exploring what you would rather replace a habit with. For me, it's a lot of going off screens and into nature.
What would you like to be doing with your mind and time?
