June’s Workshop Wednesday was a spirit-expanding, heart-warming, understanding-elevating discussion with Colette Crawford, who has been serving the birth & family community of Seattle as a nurse, yoga instructor and craniosacral therapist for 40 years. She is the founder of Sri Janani Yoga in Greenlake, where she has been supporting families & mamas in session, in class, and in community for 30 years.

We invited her to join us to share her wisdom on the relational field that affects a client while in session. This could be a parent who is present for their child, a caregiver, or even family and ancestors who are not in the room.

It is a meaningful truth that we carry all the people we know and love, as well as the generations who have come before us, with us all the time, and that they have a big impact on who we are and how we feel in our bodies.

A core value of our practice to tend to our client’s sense of safety. This is a complex and sacred job. We venture to many corners of our inner and outer universe to gain understanding and to grow our sensitive skillsets that we tend with.

We’re back together for our 2026 monthly(ish) CE gatherings that were once lovingly called Toolbox Tuesday, which are now (just as lovingly named) Workshop Wednesday (nicknamed WoWe).

New name, new day of the week, same mission: To travel the tendrils of curiosity that fringe around the Being of a bodyworker.
There is a heart and a mission that calls us to this work. There is the courage it takes to show up to work everyday. And these WoWe’s are a source of nourishment for our heavy-lifting healer selves.

It’s a 2-4 hour session each time. It’s not enough time to certify in something. But it’s plenty of time to get very specific on all sorts of interesting topics. It’s plenty of time to feel enlivened through discovery and enlightened by new ideas. We can travel up a narrow path of thought or practice, still with enough time to smell the flowers.

For our February launch, we explored the art/wisdom/science/skill of Therapeutic Communication & Rebooking Practices. I gathered together and led the curriculum, but the circle was quickly filled with the valuable wisdom of everyone in attendance.

I’ll protect some trade secrets, but know this: There is SO MUCH skill involved in bringing a sense of true connection & safety into a session. And here, in this special February circle, we worked on some of these many parts. Some were new, some were rusty and some were plain scary.

This is the sacred work of creating connection that is trustworthy.

We are so grateful to share it with you.

When things feel heavy, having a safe place to rest, breathe & connect to yourself can make a difference.

Tomorrow, January 30th, we will be open. We’re intentionally holding space as a place to feel grounded, supported, and regulated.

Still, our hearts remain with our communities near and far across this country who are grieving and living in fear.

We want to show up for those who are organizing for justice and accountability, and so we will donate 20% of tomorrow’s proceeds to .
