Some phishing attempts are easy to spot. This one isn’t.

At our most recent webinar, Neil Uhrig (U.S. Secret Service) shared a tactic we don’t see talked about enough: “double-barrel” phishing.

It works like this…

You get a normal-looking email. Nothing urgent. Nothing suspicious.
Then later, a second message shows up that references the first one.

By that point, it doesn’t feel random anymore. It feels familiar.

That’s the whole trick.

We’ve actually seen versions of this in the wild. It’s designed to build just enough trust to get a click.
