Looks like I won Bobbin Chicken as I finished with 1 thread color and was switching thread colors!
Working on some panels for playmats to take into the yard and to the park. Good practice to get a rhythm for FMQ and i don't beat myself up if it's not perfect, cause these are going to get some tiny human abuse. Expecting mud. Expecting rocks. Expecting snot.

I nearly missed Superman day! And by pure chance (or a nudge by the universe), I was working on my Fortress of Solitude quilt today. Got the applique done on all but the cape (will be the fabric on the left) today and the hair came out better than I had hoped.
May you somehow, find something that brings you hope. It's hard.

My quilt was stolen!!! 😉
Last night tiny human noticed my "I'm cold but the other person in the bed isn't" quilt and was pointing out "mom, it's spidey and ghost spider and spin! What that? Hulk! What's that? Iron Man! What's that? Thing!"
So I asked if he like the "tuck in" and if he wanted to take it to his bed. His eyes widened as he grabbed it in a ball and marched off to his room where he tucked himself in and went looking for more spideys. At bedtime, I asked which quilt he wanted, comic book or moon. "Comic book!"
So I guess it's his now. 😋

There has been a lot going on and my productivity had to take a serious backseat to other things. But during some downtime at work, I did manage to get a process shot of an upcoming but very long-term project.
I organize large EPP projects like this by hand sewing each row first and then attach the rows together. To keep track of everything and stay organized, I print each row's order on an No 9 envelope and fill with the hexies. I use Excel for formatting but also the CountIf functions to give me color totals for each envelope. As I go, I mark or poke my needle next to the hexie I just added. This row is all the same color (notice my Conditional Formatting in my color totals to denote which is the only color) , so all I have to do is make sure I don't have any clumpings of the same fabrics together. When the row is complete, it's folded and put back in the envelope and back into the storage bin until it's time to sew the rows together.
