Not everything needs to be useful.
Some things are here to remind us how to feel.

A painting won’t answer your emails.
A painted skateboard won’t check anything off your to-do list.

But they might make you pause for a moment.
They might spark a memory, a smile, or a sense of wonder.
And sometimes that’s what we need.

Maybe those little moments are more useful than we give them credit for.

I’ve spent a lot of years thinking the goal was better paintings.
These days I think more about the practice itself.

The paintings come and go.
Styles change.
Opportunities come and go.

But the practice is the thing that carries us through all of it.

Spice Art Club was built around that idea. Not chasing better paintings, but creating the conditions for more of them to happen
