Road trippin’ and reminiscin’ in a place I used to call home 🤍
Have you ever revisited a place you used to live that had such a profound impact on your life that it’s almost impossible to put into words?
For me, that’s Seattle.
My partner and I moved there a year after we got married and grew up in so many ways.
It’s a place where I worked my first “real” job.
It’s where we adopted Angus.
It’s where I met one of my closest friends.
It’s where I started to believe that anything was possible.
It’s where I felt like I could truly be…well, me.
At the time I didn’t realize just how massive of an impact this city would have on my very being.
When you’re “in” it it’s hard to see the life you’re creating and the mundane little moments that start to build your character that you’ll look back on years later with such fondness.
Every time we visit, my heart skips a beat when I see the first glimpse of the city skyline from the freeway.
A warm fuzzy feeling enters my body as we take exit 167 and that indescribable sense of HOME washes over me.
It’s been 7 years since we moved, but a piece of my heart will always belong to this city.
Visiting her is like reconnecting with an old friend.
She welcomes me with a smile, a hint of melancholy in her eyes, and the comforting smell of coffee surrounding her.
We’ve both changed since we last saw each other, but it doesn’t matter. We just pick up where we left off, like no time’s passed at all.
And as I drive away, I’m filled with the reassuring thought that it’s never really a goodbye, but rather a ‘see you later’.

BUUUUT everyone is doing it 👀
I know it feels like everyone and their mother is running a Black Friday sale—I have the emails to prove it 🫠
I’m here to remind you that if it’s not authentic to you and your business, then don’t feel the pressure to participate.
I get it, it’s the biggest marketing push of the year. The temptation to hop on the Black Friday bandwagon is real.
But if, like us, you're not into the whole more-is-more chaos of Black Friday, release yourself from that pressure.
At our core, we're all about authenticity. Unnecessary stress, ick marketing tactics, and that whole mass consumerism, thing? Not our style.
We're into sustainability, consciousness, and making a positive impact. Black Friday just doesn't align with our mission so we’re choosing to unsubscribe.
Now, no shade if Black Friday is your thing. I know plenty of entrepreneurs who are leading with intention and that's great!
My point is, if it doesn't feel authentic to YOU, your business, and your values, ignore that noise—despite what the internet is telling you.
Here's my survival guide for getting through the season as a biz owner AND a consumer:
❌ If it doesn't align, unsubscribe from the pressure.
❌ Just because it's on sale, doesn't mean you need it.
❌ If it puts you in debt, it's not worth it.
The holiday season is stressful enough, so don't let the pressure force you into something that doesn't feel right. My advice? Reflect, finish the year strong, and give yourself the gift of REST.
Feeling FOMO? Take a step back and ask yourself why. There might be more going on beneath the surface. Impulse decisions fueled by emotions usually lead to regrets. Trust me.
Sending you all the calming vibes ✨🫶🏻
