Chuck Austin Place, a former Marine Corps armory site transformed into 41 affordable homes for veterans experiencing homelessness in Yakima, WA, was a true team effort, and SMR is grateful to have worked with the Yakima Housing Authority, Enterprise Community Partners, Beacon Development Group, and all of the project partners for bringing this vision to life together.
From community design charrettes with veterans to navigating a federal transfer process, every step of this project was guided by a shared commitment to the people it would serve.

A Home for Veterans | Enterprise Community Partners A former military facility in Yakima, Washington โ declared surplus in 2014 โ is now Chuck Austin Place: 41 affordable homes serving veterans who have experienced homelessness along with on-site health clinics and behavioral health services.

Snow in Pioneer Square this morning! It was beautiful, and we loved watching it fall around our office today. But as we take in the scenery, weโre thinking of the many people in Seattle who are experiencing this cold without shelter.
If you or someone you know needs shelter, visit King County Regional Homelessness Authorityโs Severe Weather webpage for up-to-date information. Tier 2 Severe Weather Protocols are active through Sunday morning, March 15th, and additional emergency shelters are open.
No one should be left out in the cold.
