Em Carr, affectionately known as Scout in North Carolina’s activist communities, was an incredible community organizer, and passionate supporter of harm reduction. Em passed away unexpectedly in September 2024, leaving a huge gap in our hearts, and in the world.

In honor of Em’s work and care for the lifesaving work of harm reduction, The Capacity Collective is proud to offer up to 25 hours of FREE capacity building consulting to work on a data project that furthers the work of one harm reduction organization each year. The application for the 2026 scholarship will be open August 31, 2025 - October 10, 2025.

The Capacity Collective is a small but mighty team of “compassionate nerds” who came together to support community-based organizations in leveraging the power of data to celebrate their successes, demonstrate their impacts, innovate their services, and advocate for social change. We were honored to work and learn with Em for nearly 5 years, and miss them every day.

Announcing 2 data and evaluation awards supporting prenatal to age 5 activities 10/27/2020

We are super excited to announce the next chapter of work here at The Capacity Collective. Over the next year, we will be working with community-based organizations throughout King County to support the development of Prenatal to Five Culturally Relevant Measurement Tools. Data and evaluation do not come as 'one size fits all' and we are looking forward to the opportunity to help CBO's measure their strengths and resilience in ways that best represent the communities they serve.

It is an honor and a privilege to continue this work with Best Starts for Kids and our capacity building partners, Cardea Services! ⭐️
