Last night, WASE Forward's Jeri Moomaw and Mar Smith Brettmann were featured on KING 5News sharing about a proposed bill that is making its way through the Washington legislature. This bill aims to break down barriers and create first-of-its-kind services for adult s*x trafficking survivors in Washington, including housing, mental health services, and job training.
Moomaw said, “A lot of times we only have one chance with someone that's been brave enough to come forward and say I need help."
We are thrilled to continue spreading the word in support of this crucial legislation that would greatly benefit s*x trafficking survivors across Washington.
Trafficking survivors propose bill to create first-of-its-kind services for other survivors The bill would help address barriers survivors say they have faced attempting to move forward with their lives after escaping trafficking.
