Edmonds alumni Alex Fernandes is leading Division 1 baseball in batting average after week 1 and earning himself Mountain West Player of the Week!

From “Fernandes led the Spartans in taking the season opening weekend series over Louisiana on the road. Across the three game series, Fernandes batted 7-for-9, tallying six runs, four RBIs, two doubles, a walk and a stolen base. Fernandes finished the weekend with a slugging percentage of 1.000 and an on base percentage of .800”
