This summer, Seaside’s Beach Lifeguards have worked tirelessly to protect our community and visitors along the shoreline. Their vigilance in the tower, quick response in emergencies, and dedication to public safety have made a real difference every single day.

Their role is critical—not only do they protect swimmers in the water, but they also educate beachgoers, prevent accidents, and bring peace of mind to families enjoying our coast. The presence of these dedicated men and women ensures that thousands of residents and visitors alike can enjoy Seaside’s beach more safely.

Seaside is fortunate to have such an outstanding lifeguard team, and their efforts this summer have made a lasting impact on our community.

True crime fans: TOMORROW, the Times Theatre & Public House is hosting a very special “History and Hops” presentation about The Willard Incident, which left two Seaside residents and the Clatsop County Sheriff Jack Williams dead on December 30, 1898. Williams was the first Oregon sheriff killed in the line of duty.

Come for a deep dive into the event, recreated from reports from the era, including morsels of paranormal and the macabre!
