Spreading the aid

The Lackawanna County Children's Library has partnered with Child Hunger Outreach Partners (CHOP) to help provide food to children in need. Their backpack program is designed to be sure that children are not hungry over the weekend. Their bags, which are designed to fit in a child's backpack, contain 2 breakfast items, 2 servings of fruit, 2 servings of dinner, and a handful of snacks.

The bags are located in the lobby of the Children's Library and are free to all families who would like them for each of their children.
