Today, we are honored to introduce Aaron Redis as the inaugural recipient of the John Malvizzi Memorial Scholarship. 💚

Aaron is a graduate student in the University of Scranton-Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program, and was selected from an outstanding pool of applicants for his commitment to mental health advocacy, service, and leadership.

When asked what he hoped we would highlight, Aaron shared:

“My work is born out of the desire to meet my clients where they are while honoring their own lived experience. I believe this desire is reflected in my scholarly character, commitment to social justice, counseling ethics, and advocacy, as well as my original contributions to the growing body of counseling research.”

Those words beautifully reflect the values this scholarship was created to honor.

Congratulations, Aaron! We are proud to support your journey and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make in the mental health field.

Good morning, NEPA! ☀️

We are entering the final hours of NEPA Gives, and there is still time to make an impact.

Every donation to the John Malvizzi Memorial Scholarship Fund helps support graduate students pursuing careers in mental health. These future counselors, therapists, psychologists, and advocates will go on to provide support, hope, and healing to countless individuals and families.

No gift is too small. Every donation brings us one step closer to helping the next generation of mental health professionals continue their education and their mission to serve others.

One week from today, our community will come together for NEPA Gives.

From 7:00 PM on June 4 through 7:00 PM on June 5, supporters will have the opportunity to help fund the future of mental health care through the John Malvizzi Memorial Scholarship Fund.

This scholarship awards $10,000 to a graduate student at The University of Scranton pursuing a career in mental health. Every dollar raised helps create opportunities for those who have chosen a profession dedicated to helping others through some of life's most difficult moments.

As we prepare to award our very first scholarship recipient, we are incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported this vision.

Mark your calendars. Share our mission. Help us invest in the next generation of mental health professionals.

Less Stigma. More Conversation.
