7 Recruits will be attending the Allentown Fire Academy, where they will spend 22 weeks undergoing specialized training in Firefighting, EMS, Hazmat, and other areas, before joining the ranks of the Scranton Fire Department.

We were honored to welcome the Stanley Cup and Mike Joyce, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Stanley Cup Champions Florida Panthers.

Mike, a Scranton native, brought the Stanley Cup home to share with the community and our department. His family’s fire service legacy runs deep, his uncles John and Eddie Joyce both proudly served with the Scranton Fire Department.

After a ride on Engine 4, the Cup was showcased at Fire Headquarters, a perfect pairing of tradition and pride.
