The safety technician is responsible for assisting Safety Manager in all facets of Safety/Health/Security and regulatory compliance of employees, temporary workers and contractors. The Safety Manager will act as a resource to the facility and other national and international sites. This person will also ensure compliance to all local, state and federal laws.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITES
· Implements and coordinates program to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and financial
· Identifies by daily audits and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses.
· Enforces accident prevention and loss control systems and programs for incorporation in operational policies of
· Assist in the implementation of safety activities with department managers to ensure a safe plant
· Assist with Quality system Compile statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents and prepares reports for information of personnel concerned.
· Help to instill management accountability for safety and health issues within their department/facilities
· Standardize safety processes, safety policies, and reports.
· Conduct supervisory level training in safety and health
· 70% of the time will be spent auditing safety programs inside the plant

The prospective candidate should have the ability to organize and manage the following: Special projects, meeting notes, filing systems, follow-up systems, Outlook appointments, and the ability to perform project management activities, all in accordance with well-known office procedures and practices.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
SQF Certification a plus

Principal Accountabilities:

-The successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, possess strong attention to detail, and be willing to work independently to organize and prioritize a diversified workload in order to meet deadlines within a small office environment.
-Screening calls; managing calendars; shipping/delivery arrangements; preparing reports and financial data; and customer relations.
-Anticipating assistance needed by identifying problems, needs, options and solutions before being asked.
-The ability to establish and monitor production schedules to fulfill customer requirements and a hands on working knowledge of managing and purchasing inventory of raw materials.
-The ability to monitor the flow of materials, components, tooling and paperwork between departments to conform with production schedules and to confer with supervisors to eliminate difficulties and delays.
-To facilitate rush orders, prepare standard progress reports and notify a supervisor of major problems.
-The ability to enter and reconcile daily inventory transactions based on daily shift production.
-Filing of production, receiving and customer records.
-Requires strong project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
-Works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and conclude major projects. Duties include coordinating schedules and activities, placing orders for supplies and services, and tracking progress and results
-Maintains and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
-Maintain both paper and electronic filing systems for efficiency and historical reference.
-Maintains contact information in Outlook.
-Documents meeting discussions.
-Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
-Research the Internet to locate information as needed.
-Participate in general office administrative operations.
-Participate in special projects as needed.
-Performing other administrative duties as required.
