This week we want you to meet Kyler, who is part of our amazing kennel team.

Kyler joined Renegade in December 2025 and he’s been the holiday gift that keeps on giving. The dogs love him and he’s always down to star in some of our feral social media content - what more could we want?

Kyer is also wicked smart, with degrees on degrees. He could have so many other jobs and we are pinching ourselves that he chooses to work with our Renegade babies.

People often picture rescue work as food bowls, medical care and warm beds. But what they don’t see are folks like Kyler who are behind the scenes, keeping kennels clean, keeping dogs fed and spending each minute on the clock making sure they feel loved and seen before they head to their foster homes.

🖤 Kyler’s favorite part of the job is seeing the dogs let loose in playgroups

🖤His favorite dog so far is Friskies, our resident # # orange cat

🖤Kyler’s least favorite part of the job is waking the dogs up in the morning. “They are sleepy! And you know how we get without our morning coffee - or their morning kibbles.”

🖤He wishes more people knew that Renegade is not like a municipal shelter. While it can be sad seeing the dogs in kennels, each dog at Renegade’s shelter gets daily outings, walks, playgroups and mental enrichment. “Every dog gets individual treatment here, it’s not a one-size-fits-all,” he said.

🖤In Kyler’s free time, he play guitar, sings and hangs out with his amazing mama (Kyler and mom are both foster parents, too!)

🖤His fun fact? He’s a Harry Potter nerd and his favorite character is Professor McGonigal - he loves that she’s an animagus and can turn into a cat. If he could transform? He’d be a bird.

Like most of our cute pups, Kyler is looking for his forever home (wink wink). He’s single and ready to romp and stomp in the play yard - respectfully, of course 😝
