ALAINA UPDATE!!!!
Ok so update all on Alaina…. So as all know we had scans on the 16th well one of the scans came back abnormal Alaina had had 3 spots on her lungs since the start of diagnosis which they thought to be past scar tissue for when she was smaller from a cold!!!! Well fast forward to our 6 month post chemo scans the radiologist wrote back SUSPICIOUS for PULMONARY METASTASIS!!!!!! What is that some may ask….. well Alaina had osteosarcoma and upon a relapse it moves to soft tissue or the lungs sadly we believe Alaina’s chose her lungs…. With that being said due to the drs here not feeling like it’s anything to worry about and that we should just continue to watch it grow… we do feel it’s important as it has changed in shape,size, and density….. which are all factors in a tumor forming….. with osteosarcoma Mets it is everything to catch it early…. If it’s not caught early enough they won’t be able to help her any longer and we would then have how much ever time the lord decides…. But Charles and myself have decided taking her to a further hospital is our best hope for keeping Alaina alive….. and beating this monster… as of right now Alaina has not been declared in relapse but it is in suspicion…. We have a whole board of tumor drs currently waiting on her scans from the Savannah office once received they will look over and have us come to Atlanta for discussion and possible biopsy and further observation….
So as we navigate thru this difficult time please bare with us as I may not be as responsive but continue to look at her page for updates…… everyone please continue to pray for Alaina and us as her caregivers and all her drs….
Alaina has so much more life ahead of her we have to do what’s best for her and in my gut I feel something is wrong which is why I am choosing that second opinion because every other parent that I have talked to said that when this happened to their child, they were told the same thing and that if they wouldn’t have waited, their baby May would still be here. I don’t wanna be in their shoes if I would have, I want to do it. prayers as we will be navigating and traveling soon and prayers. The doctors can get to the bottom of this.
