Learning never stops in healthcare—and it shouldn’t.

Staying current with the latest research and continuing my education is one of the ways I ensure my patients receive thoughtful, evidence-based care every step of the way.

Better care starts with better education. If you’re ready to address the root cause of your symptoms, visit our website in the bio to get started.

Your tongue posture plays a bigger role in your overall function than many people realize

1️⃣ Mouth breathing — When the tongue isn’t resting properly on the roof of the mouth, it can make nasal breathing more difficult and encourage an open-mouth posture.

2️⃣ Snoring — Poor tongue posture can contribute to airway crowding during sleep, which may affect airflow and increase snoring.

3️⃣ Jaw or neck tension — The tongue, jaw, and neck muscles all work together. Poor oral posture can create extra muscle strain and tension throughout the head and neck.

4️⃣ Tongue resting on the bottom of the mouth — Your tongue should naturally rest gently against the palate. A low tongue posture may impact oral function, swallowing patterns, and airway support.

5️⃣ Frequent headaches — Tension from overworked jaw and facial muscles can sometimes contribute to headaches, especially when oral posture and muscle patterns are involved.

Myofunctional therapy helps retrain the muscles of the tongue, lips, and face to support healthier breathing, swallowing, and resting posture. ✨

Myth debunked: Snoring ≠ Deep Sleep. ❌
It sounds like rest, but it feels like a marathon to your body. 🏃‍♂️💨
When airway difficulties cause you to snore, your oxygen drops and your brain triggers your sympathetic nervous system (aka fight-or-flight mode). Your body is literally fighting for air instead of deeply resting.
True sleep should be a peaceful, parasympathetic (rest and digest) experience!

✨ Today I want to give a special shoutout to Dr Chan at . ✨

Meet Gunnar, my youngest! Recently we started our orthodontic with expansion journey.

Early expansion can be such a powerful tool for growing children, and I’m excited to watch his journey unfold with expansion and myofunctional therapy. 💙

If you’re a parent noticing mouth breathing, sleep concerns, or signs of tongue dysfunction in your child, pay attention to those instincts. Early intervention can have a lasting impact on their health, development, and quality of life.

So grateful to have found a team that is helping set him up for success. 🙏✨
