It’s scary how easy it is to build your life on sand and not realize it. Most of the time, it doesn’t look obvious. It looks like constantly comparing your life to someone else’s, like needing the next thing to feel satisfied, or like letting opinions, attention, success, comfort, or even your own identity become the thing you build everything around.

And then a storm comes.

That’s when we find out what’s actually been holding us up. Crisis has a way of revealing whether Jesus has been at the center or whether we’ve slowly placed something else on the throne.

But the mercy of God is that He doesn’t just expose what’s unstable to shame us. He shows us the sand so we can come back to the Rock.

When your world feels shaken, lift your eyes. Jesus is still high and lifted up. He’s still steady. He’s still worthy. And He’s the only foundation strong enough to build a life on.
