For our 3rd week of our 2026-27 Future Leaders Academy Summer Intensive, we toured the State College of Florida Sarasota-Manatee, learned about their Financial Aid opportunities, Student Services and Student Life.

Students started their SSAR and academic planning, prepared and presented Shark Tank proposals on how to combat Senioritis in the college application process, listened to an inspiring leadership presentation from Veronica Thames of the Manatee Community Foundation, received valuable scholarship interview and business etiquette tips from Susie Bowie from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, and learned about Summer Opportunities and life tips for during and after college.

Durante la tercera semana de nuestro curso intensivo de verano de FLA 2026-27, visitamos el State College of Florida Sarasota-Manatee, donde aprendimos sobre sus oportunidades de ayuda financiera, los servicios para estudiantes y la vida estudiantil.

Los estudiantes comenzaron a trabajar en su SSAR y en su planificación académica, prepararon y presentaron propuestas al estilo "Shark Tank" sobre cómo combatir la "senioritis" en el proceso de aplicaciones para la universidad, escucharon una inspiradora presentación sobre liderazgo a cargo de Verónica Thames, de la Fundación Comunitaria de Manatee, recibieron valiosos consejos sobre entrevistas para becas y etiqueta empresarial de parte de Susie Bowie, de la Fundación William G. y Marie Selby, y aprendieron sobre oportunidades de verano y consejos para la vida durante y después de la universidad.

Week 2 of our 2026-27 Future Leaders Academy Summer Intensive, and we are still going strong!

We toured Manatee Technical College and learned about technical certifications/careers. Students began their college search process, reviewed their SAT/ACT/CLT strategy, started their CommonApp and personal statements, created and ran their own panels and learned about social capital.

¡Ya estamos en la segunda semana de nuestro curso intensivo de verano de la Academia de Futuros Líderes 2026-27, y seguimos con mucha energía!

Visitamos y aprendimos sobre certificaciones técnicas y carreras profesionales. Los estudiantes comenzaron su proceso de búsqueda de universidades, revisaron su estrategia para el SAT, ACT y el CLT, empezaron a completar su CommonApp y sus cartas de presentación, crearon y dirigieron sus propios paneles de discusión y aprendieron sobre la importancia de reputaciones.
