The evening before Unbound, our team gathered for one last shakeout ride.

Everyone was in their kits, bikes dialed in, tires pumped, snacks and water prepped... All that was left was to show up to the starting line the next day.

Before they rolled out to ride, Christian had a speech prepared to share with the team.

He didn’t talk about output, pacing, or technical race strategy.

He talked about the people who had helped each athlete get to that moment. He talked about carrying those people with you when things got hard during the race. He reminded everyone that this race wasn’t about proving something to the world. It was about challenging yourself, believing in what’s possible, and encouraging someone else to believe they could do it too.

As we stood there listening, everyone felt that Christian wasn’t just leading this team, but was reminding every person standing there why they had said yes in the first place.

When you watch ”A Few Hard Miles”, remember this speech, this moment, this captain.

Because everything that unfolds over the next 100 miles starts right here.

Premiering July 15. 💛

A special thank you to our support crew.

Meet Sean. He’s 14, and this is his first season of Gravel & Giving.

If you’re around him, you’ll notice it pretty quickly… he’s always cheering. For everyone. No matter what. Even if things aren’t going his way, he’ll still find a way to celebrate the moment.

Sean loves to move. Dancing, running, riding his bike. He loves cooking (and prefers to be the one doing it), singing along to his music, and being around his family. And when it comes to the little ones in his life, he just shows up differently. Calm, present, all in.

It can take him a little time to warm up. New people, new environments, that part is real. But when he does, you see him.

Over the past year, he’s been building confidence on the bike in a big way. What used to feel out of reach is starting to click. Not overnight, just one ride at a time.

This year, he’s taking that into his first Gravel & Giving season… alongside his twin brother Nic, who’s also on the team.

Meet Nic.

Also 14. Also on the team and in his 1st season of Gravel & Giving! And yes… Sean’s twin. 😂

Nic is the kind of person you notice right away. He’s the one holding the door open, the one smiling at everyone, the one who would give you the shirt off his back without thinking twice.

He’s steady. He’s kind. And he shows up the same way every time to every one.

He loves music (Elvis, The Beatles, Hardy on repeat), video games, swimming, bowling, cycling… and if there’s chicken strips involved, he’s all in. 🍗

Nic works hard. Like REALLY hard. The kind of effort that doesn’t always get noticed at first, but it’s there in everything he does.

He picks things up quickly, keeps pushing, and just keeps going.

And like any twin brothers… him and Sean will go at it sometimes, but that’s part of the journey, too, rig

If you’ve ever met Christian, you know that he has a way of making people believe they can do hard things.

Whether he’s encouraging a teammate through a tough training ride, helping another athlete learn a new skill, or striking up a conversation with someone he’s never met before, Christian has a gift for making people feel capable.

It’s one of the many reasons he’s such an incredible team captain.

Last week, Christian underwent the first surgery in a craniofacial reconstruction journey that’s been years in the making. While his focus right now is on recovery, anyone who knows Christian knows he’s already looking ahead to what’s next.

As the defending World Champion in his division at the Gravel Worlds Triathlon, Christian has his sights set on returning later this summer. Depending on how recovery progresses, he’s even hoping to join another Adventure For All athlete for a bike ride or run during Gravel Worlds weekend.

That’s just who he is.

No matter what challenge is in front of him, Christian finds a way to keep moving forward while bringing others along with him.

Send some love, encouragement, and well wishes to as he begins his recovery journey. 💛

A few weeks ago, four athletes from Adventure For All’s Death to Doubt team rolled up to the start line of Unbound Gravel.

The things most people didn’t see was everything (all the physical, emotional, and mental obstacles) that came before it.

They didn’t see Nick riding alongside his three-year-old son Jackson, showing him what it feels like to belong in a community that believes in him.

They didn’t see Christian spending 18 years in casts and braces before becoming an Ironman, Boston Marathon finisher, and Unbound rider.

They didn’t see Lukas learning how to ride a bike at an Adventure For All camp just three years ago before finding himself on the start line of one of the biggest gravel races in the world.

They didn’t see Phoebe, the only female athlete on the team, showing other girls that there is no sport, challenge, or adventure that’s off limits to them.

This was always about more than a race.

It’s why we’ll always celebrate the starting line just as much as the finish line.

Unbound wasn’t just 198 miles completed by our athletes. It was years of courage, growth, family support, self-belief, and countless moments that led to one weekend in Emporia.

To everyone who followed along, cheered them on, shared their stories, and believed in them along the way, thank you.

The race may be over, but these stories are just getting started. 🤘👏😎

A flat tire can feel like the end of a race. But what if it was just another problem you knew how to solve?

Huge shoutout to for investing in our athletes and creating opportunities like this. During their recent camp, athletes learned how to change their own bike tires so that if something goes wrong out on course, they have the knowledge and confidence to get themselves back on track.

We always have coaches alongside our athletes, but our goal has never been to do things for them. It’s to help them build the confidence, skills, and independence to do more for themselves every time they show up.

And this camp was about SOOO much more than changing a tire.

They got to take part in a skills lab, put in back-to-back training days, and gained valuable knowledge around nutrition, goal setting, and strength training. Not to mention .coon worked through fears around riding on the side of the road 👏 👏

That’s what makes experiences like this so powerful. Every lesson, every mile, and every challenge becomes another opportunity to grow.

It was an incredible week, and everyone involved made it such a special experience for our athletes.

Thank you, Gravel Worlds, for continuing to create spaces where our athletes can learn, grow, and discover just how capable they are. 💛
