Great article regarding Home Sharing on the east coast. Connor Timmons is the ED of HomeShare Vermont and is the President of National Shared Housing Resource Center of which I am VP. SHARE Sonoma County has been creating home share placements for ten years though Amy Appleton made her first match in 2010, which match is the corner stone of SHARE Sonoma County. Bob and AJ were together for 11 years. Their friendship was equally supportive of each other. Bob was a veteran which a great network of friends yet could not leave a skilled nursing facility for over 8 months as the facility would not discharge him for safety reasons. I met AJ at church and he was unhoused, couch surfing with friends. When AJ moved in, he provided services in exchange for the bedroom rental. As Bob became stronger and more in need of rental income, the match would shift and as Bob went into a slow decline due to ongoing health concerns, AJ would shift to providing help, so that Bob's needs were met.
