Revised again on August 6th. This is a work in progress. Note that I added "...to the North and South..." and also "so" on two lines. I think it is much clearer. Feedback welcomed:

I stand my feet upon the land
My RIght hand stretched to the rising sun in the East
My Left hand stretched to the setting sun in the West
I face the North and the South is at my back.
Spring Equinox and Fall Equinox I am perfectly aligned.

I stand my feet upon the land
Summer solstice our Earth tilts 23 and a half degrees so
The sun rises and sets higher to the North and South on June 21st.
Winter solstice our Earth tilts 23 and a half degrees so
The sun rises and sets lower to the North and South on December 21st.

I stand my feet upon the land
I know East and West, the North and South
And I can find my home.
