🚧 Watmaugh Road Bridge Closure Begins June 15, 2026
The Watmaugh Road Bridge over Sonoma Creek will be closed to all through traffic beginning June 15, 2026, to allow for bridge replacement construction.
📅 Expected Duration:
June 15, 2026 – Late Summer 2027
🚗 Detour Route:
When you reach the bridge closure, follow the signed detour route:
➡️ Travel north on Arnold Drive
➡️ Continue east on Leveroni Road
➡️ Turn south on Napa Road
➡️ Continue south on Broadway
➡️ Reconnect with Watmaugh Road on the opposite side of the bridge closure
The detour works in reverse for travelers coming from the opposite direction.
🏡 Local Access:
Residents living on Watmaugh Road will continue to have access to their driveways during construction; however, vehicles will not be able to cross the bridge.
Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow posted detour signs.
Thank you for your patience as we complete this important infrastructure improvement project.

🚨 We would like to thank Northern Sonoma County CERT for recognizing Sonoma County Public Infrastructure with a Certificate of Appreciation for our participation in the 2026 Wildfire & Earthquake Safety Expo.
Preparedness is a shared responsibility, and events like these help connect community members with information, resources, and organizations dedicated to emergency readiness.
As we enter wildfire season and reflect on recent disasters around the world, including the devastating earthquake in the Philippines, it's a good reminder to review your emergency plans and supplies. Experts recommend keeping enough food, water, medications, and essential items on hand to support your household for at least three days.
You can also stay informed by signing up for emergency alerts, downloading trusted emergency information apps such as Watch Duty, and learning more about preparedness programs available in your community.
Thank you to Northern Sonoma County CERT, the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management, and all of the organizations and volunteers who help strengthen emergency preparedness throughout Sonoma County.
