Liberty has cancelled the homeowner's insurance policy for this home allegedly because of the moss growth. While there is some moss, this is pretty minimal. The reality is that moss is not a significant fire risk nor is it as much a factor in roof wear as direct sun exposure. I have colleagues whose policies have been cancelled due to moss growth on tile roofs. In my opinion, it is clear that the insurer is looking to cancel policies in California while pretending that the cancellations are for just cause. This is unfortunate and frustrating. I do hope this is brought under control soon.
