Many of you have seen my posts seeking daycare for my little . I have made close to three dozen calls, inquiries, and tours with sites all over the County. The short answer is: there is no care for infants, and the places that offer it have waiting lists a mile long.

We were very proud to be part of the kickoff and signature gathering for Our Kids Our Future, which would provide desperately-needed funding for childcare here in Sonoma County. You'll see us on slide 9 ;-)

Local child care advocates pushing new sales tax measure to bolster services Our Kids Our Future, a Santa Rosa-based campaign effort that formed in July 2021, is leading a push to put a quarter-cent countywide sales tax on the ballot in November.

There has been horrible news lately here in Sonoma County involving current and former elected officials violating the public's trust and the sanctity of others' lives in the form of sexual violence. We are rightly having a heated and frenzied discourse and I am so glad to see so many other public officials taking very public, firm stands against violence, against abuses of power, and against silencing victims. Though I am no longer in a leadership position, I feel it incumbent to make my position clear (though I'm sure no one will be surprised):

As a survivor, as a woman, as a mother, I can tell you and . I can also tell you these reports and the actions taken in the fallout have caused me significant re-trauma; I'm sure I'm not alone. So, I wanted to share the following information from Verity, our local r**e and sexual violence crisis counseling center:

"Our hearts go out to all survivors, and would like you to know that you are not alone.
Please contact Verity in Santa Rosa if you have been triggered. They are able to set up Zoom debrief sessions for anyone in the community who would like to speak to them.
