Folk Sweden

Applications for joining the 2024 folktour to Sweden are now open. The official tour dates are June 26 to July 10, with stays in Värmland, Dalarna, Hälsingland, and Uppland. We will attend a minimum of 3 traditional music festivals, visit the homes of 2 or 3 of Sweden's most famous artists, and explore the folk culture around every place we go! There is still room for 2 or 3 more participants. Musicians especially welcome (fiddlers, of course!), but you do not need to be a musician to get full enjoyment from the tour.

The 2024 tour is officially on! There's room for maximum 4 people, but if there are more we will have an extra tour beginning two weeks early. Look for details at the website!

I have finally got the hang of updating my website! The page for the Friday night fiddle sessions is working properly, and I have started on the pages for my Swedish tours. I'm trying to add a little each day: pictures, links, etc. to describe the tours. By the end of the month I will have more details on cost, connections, how to prepare for a tour, and so forth. Keep checking periodically, and you'll find more and more there! Click on anything underlined, and you may get a surprise!

My website, www.folksweden.com, will be changing format and appearance. The old program for updating it has been discontinued, and it will be a couple weeks before the new system is up and running. In the meantime, it still works, but I cannot update it.
I guess I am looking forward to many weeks of rebuilding everything, including all the information on my music and on the Swedish folk tours I conduct in the summertime.
Next year I will have two back-to-back tours, both starting in Stockholm: June 15-29 through Värmland, Västergötland, Småland, with Midsommar celebrated in Uppland; and June 29-July13 through Hälsingland, Dalarna, and Uppland, with both the Delsbo and Bingsjö fiddle festivals included.
By summertime this year I should be done with the whole website.
