Tropical Storm Cindy winding down here along the Emerald Coast. As a long-time Florida resident, I believe the days following a tropical storm can be a great time to view prospective properties you may be interested in buying. The reasoning is this: The storm has tested properties in the area with higher winds, large amounts of rain, rising water levels in adjacent bodies of water, and access or road conditions leading into properties. It is a great time to see water leaks in the home, poor drainage around the home and access roads, wind damage and so on. Is the property or the area around the property prone to flooding? Good opportunity to see the property under adverse conditions. All properties look better on sunny day, how does it look immediately following a tropical storm may be revealing. 😎
