Sometimes, creativity means bringing every piece of your world together. I’m excited to share this finished piece, featuring a rugged mountain man and his loyal grizzly companion—symbols of resilience, adventure, and a deep connection to nature.

What makes this artwork even more special for me? The frame. I built it from cedar harvested on my own farm, and shaped every inch so it echoes the wild spirit and earthy richness of the story it surrounds. The wood’s natural warmth and grain are a living part of this piece, grounding the scene in authenticity and memories of my land.

I believe art should be as much about craft and intention as it is about inspiration. Every element—canvas, color, wood, and story—comes together to celebrate the untamed beauty that inspires my work daily.

‘Old Timer’ has been a project I have been working on behind the scenes for some time. It is #6 in my successful Bird dog series. Just in time for Fathers Day. The rust and patina on the Ol Truck was a lesson in patience in itself, but love the overall mood of this piece, on a cloudy hazy day. I even hand built the frame just for this piece.
