Partners In Rhyme

This video is shot during my two days of wild camping in the mountains of Northern Spain with my chihuahua Bianca. I'm testing out my new Alton Goods ultralight camping gear that I ordered all the way from Australia. They have really great products for a great price (despite the import fees that Spanish customs charges).
My chihuahua Bianca joins me on this trip and despite her small stature she is great in the forest and is a natural at protecting the campsite and keeping an eye/nose out for any wild animals that might wander past.

I'm still battling the effects of Long COVID by hiking and camping at our place in the woods just north of Barcelona. This is a beautiful area isolated high in the mountains far from any towns or people. We live off grid in our tiny group of houses and I spend a lot of time in the forest.
Just being in nature seems to relieve many of the symptoms of Long COVID although everyday is still a struggle to keep going.

I spent the night out in the field in the hot tent so I could get an early start up the mountain to film the predicted snowstorm.
I was not disappointed. The blizzard hit just as I was making my way to the fields at Vilanova. I was able to fly the drone during breaks in the snowstorm. This was my first major hike since by battle with long Covid began two months ago. I felt pretty good during the hike and the whole snowy adventure got my energy up for quite a while but unfortunately I crashed for two days afterwards.
Covid Sucks!
The opening track for the camera gear prep part of the video is cool because of the nature of the editing I got use a genre that is not normally associated with nature and hiking videos, namely 'trap beat'.

The music for the rest of the video is more suited for nature and drone footage with it's ambient pads and lone piano melody. The great thing about this track is the composer provided an alternate version of the mix the excluded the piano melody which I used at the end of the video to give it an even more ambient effect.

Today I hiked up to near the top of the mountain where we live in the National Park in Northern Spain. That is where the main stream that supplies much of the water to our community start. It bubbles up from the ground and begins its journey downhill creating spectacular waterfalls and feeds the springs of the surrounding communities.
