Featuring a pagoda-style roof and carved dragons under the eaves, The Nirvana is indeed a landmark in Hollywood. It lies across the street from the legendary magicians club The Magic Castle, where Houdini's spirit is said to be present, and the ghost of a woman named Irma sometimes plays the piano (allegedly to take revenge on a magician who despised music - you can request any piece you like).

Moving here from Santa Monica, I did not know that The Nirvana has a vivid and somewhat dark past itself. Not only did it host personalities such as Monroe, Bogart and Valentino, as well as the magicians performing at The Magic Castle (and still does). This old house also has a history of murder and tragic deaths among the people who have lived here. So far only a few peculiar things have occurred, we'll see.
