Finished this ported enclosure for a 2023
F-350. 2.7 ft3 tuned to 32Hz, 2.5” Seatlift. From what I’ve seen, rear fired subs have been done plenty of times in these trucks, but I believe this is the first one utilizing 3 Solo X 8’s.

Kept it simple and clean without the bells & whistles; but added small details to give it character while still matching the OEM interior so it looks like it belongs.
Custom acrylic side inserts, a front kick panel since that’s most likely the area to be kicked.

My theory on rear firing after some R&D; Better cabin loading, Allows deeper subs, Protects the cones. Downfire/upfire sound great, but one eats up volume, both are limited on depth and cone clearance.

In this truck, rear fire just made the most sense. Although it took me hours to design. Once it’s in the truck, I’m going to change a few things for the next one but I will be posting what this setup does on Term Lab on music not over powered. (what it truly does for the average daily driver at normal power) and its bandwidth.
