TODAY is ! Support Our Special Horses!
This we're reaching out to ask for your support in funding some very special horses who play a crucial role in our community by supporting people with disabilities.
Why We Need Your Help:
Caring for our wonderful horses comes with significant costs. Providing them with proper nutrition, medical care, and living conditions is essential to ensure they can continue their vital work. That's why we need your help to keep them healthy and happy.
How You Can Help:
Consider making a one-time donation or becoming a monthly donor. Any amount you can give will have a positive impact on both our horses and the individuals they help.
We emphasized the importance of Free Access Hay to our horse’s physical and mental health in our previous posts. Here's how your contribution makes a difference:
- $27 buys a bale of hay. Our herd of 8 eats 2-3 bales a day. That’s about $75 per day!!

The New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding (NMCTR) recently received another grant to support the School Outreach Program. The City of Santa Fe Children and Youth Commission granted NMCTR a $10,000 grant to be used for classroom scholarships for the School Outreach Program.
The School Outreach Program is an effective and data-driven program that provides an equine-assisted program for under-served, low-income children and youth with disabilities (autism, developmental delay, learning delays, hearing/sight impaired, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, ADHD, etc.) that attend with their special education classrooms from participating Santa Fe schools.
NMCTR’s School Outreach Program is beloved by the Santa Fe community’s special education teachers and administrators, as it has helped to show marked improvement in students’ capabilities in a myriad of areas.
Thank you to the City of Santa Fe for the support!

We are at Buffalo Thunder today for the New Mexico Public Education Department’s first-ever Parent University, a two-day event designed to support families of children with disabilities.
This event focuses on enhancing communication between families, schools, and communities. We are having a great time enlightening everyone about equine-assisted services.
