BEE STUFF: One of our hives was not "queen right". Today, we installed a new liege to put that hive back in line.

A small cage containing this new queen was placed inside the hive. Over the course of a few days, with her pheromones penetrating through the frames, the bees will chew through a candy plug. This gradually releases her to her new kingdom, allowing the colony to become used to these new pheromones.

Once out, our Queen will go on a mating flight to fertilize her eggs and return to her new palace to fulfill her royal duty, strengthening the colony by laying up to 2000 (!!) eggs a day.

HEADS UP: there's a scam going around targeting vendors/potential vendors at our upcoming Spring Festival. Any emails coming from "OLIVIA CONTIERO FOOD AND TRUCKS LLC", or any emails with content as such below ought to be disregarded and deleted.

Las Golondrinas festival vendors ONLY register and complete any transactions with our Vendor Coordinator and Finance department via golondrinas.org. There is no third party.

Festival tickets are ONLY sold through Hold My Ticket. Tickets coming from any other party will not be accepted.

Whew, okay, back to ranch life.
