BREAKING NEWS - Title Insurance costs in New Mexico to drop 6%

Every two years, New Mexico's title insurance regulator establishes how much title companies can charge for title insurance. On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, the New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance its Final Order in the 2021 Biennial Title Insurance Rate Hearing (Docket No. 2021-0061). The Order commands title insurance companies to lower the price they charge to consumers for title insurance by 6 per cent. The new rates become effective on July 1, 2022.

Title insurance companies will still be able to set their own prices for settlement services.
