Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Education Speaker Series with Professor Michael Beck!

We were thrilled to welcome **56 participants** for an engaging conversation about the future of coastal resilience and the power of nature-based solutions.

**Highlights from the evening:**
🌊 **Key takeaway:** Investing in natural infrastructure—like reefs, wetlands, and mangroves—provides tremendous ecological and economic benefits. By combining science and policy to proactively protect our coastlines, we can strengthen coastal ecosystems and communities before climate-related disasters occur.

💬 **Audience Q&A:** Participants asked thoughtful questions about protecting vulnerable areas like Capitola Village, the future of beloved local surf spots, and what implementing nature-based coastal protection strategies could look like in practice.

A special thank you to **Patagonia** for hosting this event, and to everyone who joined the conversation and helped make it such a meaningful evening.
