I’m shocked that I’m not broken. Lying under the covers and just sobbing. I’m not. I’m now determined to make sure that that closing with Dignity is my priority, that my patients today get my attention and presence on their issues not mine. I know I am going to field the stinging questions about the business all day but I’m pretty sure I cried out as much as I can on Thurs-Saturday.
Yesterday I just went to work and started the process of dismantling.

The beautiful part of maintaining my Oncology practice is that my tragedy is the death of a business not of my body or a loved one. Although I do feel like I can attribute Cruz Kitchen & Taps being a child that I’ve grown tirelessly for the last 3years.

So my perspective is that of being present for my people today. Showing up for my kids and my patients. Then I gotta make all those scary phone calls and seeing how to face the debt that I created.

That is a whole other subject for another day. I know why I did all the things I did for that business. I understand why people keep going and now why they stop. It’s a crazy world to be in. Business owners are inherently dreamers and hope-addicts.

More Halloween fun on deck for this week. Tonight it’s at Cruz Kitchen & Taps. Two rounds kicking off at 6:30pm: Questions covering history, candy (well, sort of), early film debuts and some cartoon fun with The Great Pumpkin.

We will have the game playing on the big projector screen. Kick off at 5:15. Happy Hour all night
