Our local community is very familiar with MATTHEW TAVIANINI who plays the MAN in this Friday's opening of The Father. For 23 years, Matthew has served as the Managing Director/Producer/Actor with BOXTALES Theatre Co. He is a co-founder of the Lit Moon Theatre Co. and has played The Fool in LMTC’s production of King Lear, Waffles in Uncle Vanya, Torvald in A Doll’s House, Caesar in Julius Caesar, Semyonov Pischik in The Cherry Orchard. At SBCC he played Chris/Inspector in The Play That Goes Wrong, Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express and Alfie in One Man, Two Guvnors.
Matthew teaches acting, and works as a director/actor for the Santa Barbara Revels. He has enjoyed working at the Westport Playhouse, The Odyssey Theatre, Ogunquit Playhouse, SBCC. RACHEL JORDAN BROWN performs as ANNE in "The Father" at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara opening September 13th. Her recent credits with SBCCTG include Treasure Island and The Wolves. Rachel in her 15-year residency in New York City, credits included, Nance O'Neil (Nance) at Blue Coyote Theater Group, The Night Carter Was Bad (Annie), Measure for Measure (Mariana), Love's Labour's Lost (Jaquenetta), Their Shadows Kiss the Ground, A Dance Theater Piece by Josh Fox and Makoto Matsushima, Trojan Women (Dido) for which she received an Irene Ryan Acting Award Nomination. She spent 13 years performing, emceeing, and producing burlesque across the country as Sapphire Jones. She is currently earning an MFA in Acting/Directing in the low residency program at Randolph College. Don't miss Rachel in this poignant play produced by The Producing Unit. We consider ourselves fortunate to have TOM HINSHAW as ANDREI in our upcoming production of "The Father"! Santa Barbara audiences are very familiar with Tom, and we are honored he agreed to play this delicate and sensitive role.

This is Tom’s fourth appearance with The Producing Unit, having appeared in American Dreams, Spoon River, and 154 and Paradise. He was also seen regularly at Genesis West, receiving Independent Theater Awards for Endgame and Title and Deed and appearing in A Number, Curse of the Starving Class, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Pillowman, The Designated Mourner, La Terrasse, The God of Hell, The Goat or Who is Sylvia, and Blue Heart.
